CONSOLIDATE POWER

By Abe Purugganan
October 7, 2017

Why resign?

Let him consolidate power if that is what is needed to change a rotten system and government. It is better than a dysfunctional system where our legal system is controlled by the opposition and prevents him from implementing reforms. Thanks to a stupid 1987 constitution.

Go Mr President! Consolidate power now and get rid of these power grabbers. Go the fastest way. Go for revolutionary government. We are sick and tired of these people who think they own the government.

_____
On LP senators’ claim that the Administration wants to consolidate power

The President has stated that it is his duty to protect the State from forces who want to seize power from a duly constituted government and subvert the people’s will.

PRRD’s offer to resign is a clear statement that he has no intention of clinging on to power, contrary to claims of some opposition senators that he wants to consolidate power or intimidate independent institutions.

There is a world of difference between the President exercising his bounden duty, and the malicious accusation that he has a hidden agenda in doing so. We expect the opposition to be more circumspect in their pronouncements.
