I'm amazed at Senate hearings where those invited to appear address senators as "Your Honor" and "Honorable Senator." Why not simply address the chairman of the hearing as "Your Chair" and senators by their last name?
It is the people who elect and pay the salaries and benefits of public officials. These officials are our servants, not the other way around. We are their masters. Since when does a master address his servant by a superior title? So if our servant at hearings do not treat us with respect, we, as their master, have the right to dress them down, not the other way around.
It is time we got rid of our subservient attitude, our slave mentality. It is time to remind pretentious legislators and other public officials who is the bossI
