If you trust Rodrigo Duterte to bring meaningful change for the future of our people and country, as I do, then help to make it easy for him to effect change. He is 72 and needs all our help. Otherwise if he feels he is constricted and limited in his powers, and can't do much more, he will just resign and go back to Davao. I don't blame him. I would do the same.
The forces against change have come together to block, discredit, malign, even topple him if they can. You see it every day in their pronouncements and actions. Institutions that were intended to be impartial, like the Ombudsman, Comelec, CHR, are taking part in the destabilization. This shows the extent of the rot in the system and broken institutions. In Congress - the Senate and the House - all we see are clowns wasting taxpayers money on endless charades. They are making a joke out of the people.
There is a limit to our patience. Let us show them we are their masters, not their servants.
Walk the talk and give the president the extraordinary powers he needs to do a general cleanup and overhaul the rotten political system. He doesn't need to ask us for them. He expects us to see the obvious.
If you're not willing to do this, then you don't deserve Rodrigo Duterte. You either trust him or you don't. It's as simple as that. You either help him or you don't. But don't pretend you support him when you really don't want to see him succeed.
